Farm to Table Philosophy, a Skinny Favorite
Whoever said burgers can’t be healthy? Grange Hall Burger Bar takes the chemicals and unnecessary ingredients from their menu to offer patrons a healthier-alternative who are up for just grabbing a burger for lunch or dinner.
Their farm-to-table philosophy provides grass-fed beef and free-range turkey, no hormones or antibiotics added. Everything on their menu is fresh to the table, nothing store bought. They even have gluten-free bun options. Wanting fewer carbohydrates? Ask for lettuce instead of a bun, or just hold the bun all together. Skinny Socials recommends holding the bun or lettuce instead if you are choosing fries on the side. Another side option is the Northern Baked Beans made with fennel, green peppers, spices and barbeque sauce. Skinny Socials recommends sharing the portion with a friend.
Besides offering a Grass-Fed, Farm Raised Beef Burger, Grange Hall Burger Bar has a delicious veggie burger and turkey burger. The Wild-Rice Veggie Burger is potato-based filled with wild rice, sweet corn, broccoli and other veggies. Their Free-Range Turkey Burger is made with turkey, sage, and white onions.
Our best topping options include lettuce, tomato, onion, mushrooms, and jalapenos. Add avocado for the extra protein and a healthy dose of fat. For cheese, choose Stella Blue, Swiss, Pepper Jack or Muenster, which have the lowest in calories and fat of the cheeses — between 95-108 calories and 7-8 grams of fat per ounce.
Even their wine is local! They offer two wines from Lynfred Winery located in Roselle, IL, Vin De City Red (cab-merlot blend, cherry, spiced) and Vin De City White (semi-sweet, fruity & light). These are both table wines and a little on the fruity side. Looking for a Skinny Social cocktail option, try the Juni-Pear and Tonic made with pear cider mixed with Ransoms old Tom gin and tonic water, garnished with a lemon.
Coming this summer, the Farmer’s Breakfast will be served on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-1:00pm. Skinny Socials cannot wait to come back and try their Steel-Cut Raisin Oatmeal with the whipped butter and brown sugar on the side and almond milk. Yum!
